How do I turn a photo into a cartoon or an avatar?
Open Fun Presets in the PixeLift web app and choose a preset, such as Cartoonify or Turn into Avatar, plus a style if you picked the avatar. Upload a photo, ideally of one person, and select Generate. The AI redraws it in that style. Compare the result with your photo, and try another style if you like.
- Sign in to PixeLift and open Fun Presets in the dashboard.
- Choose a preset. For Turn into Avatar, also pick a style.
- Upload a photo of one person and select Generate.
- Compare the result with the Before / After button, then save or share it.
Cartoonify
Turns the whole photo into cartoon art.
Turn into Avatar
Makes a digital avatar of the person in one of eight styles: Anime, Sketch, Cartoon, 3D Avatar, Line Art, Water Color, Futuristic, or Surprise Me, which picks one for you.
Movie Poster
Turns the person into an avatar on a cinematic movie poster, with dramatic light, a new background and no text.
Hair Cut
Gives the person a new, modern haircut and keeps the face, pose and background as they were.
Body Builder
Adds muscle while keeping the same face, pose and lighting.
Which photos work best?
The presets are written for one person, so use a photo with one person whose face is clearly visible and well lit. Group photos may not come out as expected.
Can I change the result afterwards?
Yes. Every result in the web app has an Edit option. Choose it, type what you want changed, such as "make the background white" or "add more brightness", and PixeLift makes a new version from the result.
Use photos you have the right to use
Restyle photos of yourself, or of people who have agreed to it. The Acceptable Use Policy lists what isn't allowed.

Can I try another style on the same photo?
Yes. Go back, choose another preset or avatar style and generate again.
Will it still look like me?
Hair Cut and Body Builder are told to keep your face as it is. Cartoonify and the avatar styles redraw your face in the new style, so expect a likeness rather than a copy. A clear, well-lit photo helps.
Does it work with photos of pets?
Cartoonify turns any picture into cartoon art, so a pet photo works there. The other presets are written for a person, so a pet may not come out as expected.
Can I use my avatar as a profile picture or for my business?
Yes, if the photo is of you or of someone who agreed to it. You can use your results for personal and commercial projects.
